Nanocrete Module
Module Description:
This module, created by the Center for Nanotechnology Education (Nano-Link), introduces students to nanoconrete, "the nanotechnologies, processes, and methods being tested by industry to prepare strong and lightweight cementitious products and systems." During the learning activity students "produce observable enhancements and changes in the material properties of concrete using (emulated) nanotechnologies and nanoprocessing."
Module Contents:
This module include an instructor guide and presentation slides. The 11-page instructor guide includes an abstract, learning outcomes, prerequisites, learning activity description and procedure, discussion questions, and more. The presentation slides provide background information on nanoconcrete for the module learning activity, including the following topics: the use of nanocrete in industry and in the home, tensile testing, nanocrete analysis, the nanomechanism, important nanocrete terms, and more.
Versions in Spanish are also included for the module documents.
For orientation purposes NanoCrete.pdf is included as a separate attachment and offers a sample of the type of material included in this module.
