All workshops are held at the BCTC Newtown Campus. All Field Trips provide transportation from to and from the host location. We will work with parents and schools to set up appropriate transportation arrangements.

National Science Foundation

The National Science Foundation's Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program has been funding innovation at two-year colleges for over twenty years. With a focus on the education of technicians for the high-technology fields that drive our nation's economy, and strong partnerships between academic institutions and industry, ATE promotes improvement in the education of science and engineering technicians at the undergraduate and secondary school levels.

In May 2025, the National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded BCTC with a grant, Securing the Future: Inclusive Cybersecurity Education for All, to develop a Cybersecurity Program at BCTC to serve the national interest by creating an inclusive cybersecurity technician education for all.

Are you interested in a high-demand and well-paying tech career? Our Cybersecurity for All (CFA) Program at Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) helps students gain the skills and credentials needed to enter the cybersecurity field.

Who Can Join?

Students from 7th to 12th grade – Come and explore cybersecurity programs, career opportunities, and the workforce at BCTC.

What Does This Program Offer?

  • Mentorship & support from experienced faculty and peer mentors.
  • Workshops & career exploration to help you find the right cybersecurity path for you!
  • Field trips to see how cybersecurity works in the real world.
