This resource is provided by the National Resource Center for Materials Technology Education (MatEdU) and is the fourth chapter from the MatEdU Science Educational Handbook. This handbook is designed to offer flexibility and adaptability in teaching materials science education and training. Its numerous activities serve as practical demonstrations of scientific principles that can be integrated into any curriculum. The primary objective of the Handbook is to equip programs with the necessary tools to introduce materials science concepts effectively, while also providing high-quality instruction for further study in the subject.

Chapter 4 " discus[es]the structure of polymers and explore[s] some of their properties and uses. This chapter includes the following units are included: Introduction to Polymers, Structure-Dependent Properties of Polymers, and Future Polymer Applications. The chapter also includes instructors guides, instructor notes, and presentation slides.
