What Can ATE Central Do for Me?

There are many good reasons to connect with ATE Central and other members of the Advanced Technological Education (ATE) community. The ATE program, funded by the National Science Foundation, promotes innovation in workforce and technician preparation through a diverse set of national, regional, and local projects and centers based primarily at two-year institutions.

ATE Central acts as an information hub for the community, with a resource rich web portal and integrated set of tools, services, and publications designed to support the community and showcase the depth and breadth of the ATE program. You’ll find great resources on the ATE Central portal to help you strengthen and amplify the work of your ATE project or center and share the valuable work you’re doing with the rest of the community.

  • ATE 101: ATE Central's ATE 101 pages provide grantees with resources as well as guidance through each step and condition expected of projects and centers. This includes information about deliverables, outreach, evaluation, partners, and tools and technology. If you are a new grantee, these pages will be especially helpful.
  • Tools and Services: ATE Central provides a host of tools and services designed with ATE community input and created to help support the work of your project or center.  These include an online outreach kit, our archiving service, sustainability training opportunities, an ATE blog, and much more.
  • Resource Collection and Archive: ATE Central collects and catalogs curriculum, best practice documents, videos, and lots of other valuable resources created by the ATE community in its online Resource Collection and Archive. Most of the resources housed in this digital collection are freely available for you to modify or reuse in your own project or center work. You can find examples of curriculum to adapt, videos to use in the classroom, or information about new pedagogical approaches. You can search and browse this collection of resources or get to the collection under the Resources tab at the top of this page.
  • ATE Projects and Centers: ATE Central can connect you to ATE grantees all over the country; some of them are probably close by in your own state or region.  Visit the ATE Central Map to search through projects and centers by area of the country or by subject area (manufacturing, nanotechnology, welding, etc.).
  • Events and News: If you’d like to learn more about what’s going on in the community, you can check out the events calendar or subscribe to ATE Central’s monthly newsletter to get a monthly update about resources, innovations, and news from and about ATE grantees.
  • ATE Proposal Support: If you’re re-applying for NSF ATE funding, ATE Central can point you to a host of great resources.  Of course, you want to read through the program RFP again if you haven’t done so already.  You can use the ATE Central Map to find possible mentors or collaborators, use the Outreach Kit or materials from our Sustainability Services to guide your planning, or browse our listing of others in the ATE community that can provide support.
