This video, provided by the Building Efficiency for a Sustainable Tomorrow (BEST) Center, features a talk by Milica Grahovac, a principal scientific engineering associate in the Energy Technologies Area at Berkeley Lab.

Given at the 2021 BEST Annual Institute: Sustaining Healthy and Energy Efficient Buildings Through Technician Education, this presentation discusses control description language (CDL) as a foundation for the digitized control delivery process. CDL is a declarative language that uses block diagrams to express control algorithms for buildings. Grahovac begins with a short introduction of CDL basics and then discusses CDL technology, OBC controls delivery, environmental impacts, and standardization. A demo of a simple controller and a model simulation are also included.

This video runs 41:50 minutes in length.
