A Future Grid with Buildings and EVs
This video from the Building Efficiency for a Sustainable Tomorrow (BEST) Center features three presentations on the integration of electric vehicles (EVs) with the electrical grid. These presentations were given at the 2025 BEST Annual Institute: Ensuring Sustainability: Energy Efficient Buildings & Technician Education.
In the first presentation, Sarah Swickard, Vehicle-Grid Integration Manager at PG&E (Pacific Gas and Energy Company), defines vehicle-grid integration and discusses the PG&E strategy for EVs. In the second session, John Taggart, Founder of WeaveGrid, introduces WeaveGrid as a platform that integrates EVs into the grid by turning them into "grid resources." The final presentation was given by Zach Lee, Director of Research & Development at PowerFlex. Lee discusses the potential of using adaptive load management to integrate EVs with existing infrastructure.
