In this video, provided by the Building Efficiency for a Sustainable Tomorrow (BEST) Center, Jingjing Liu from the Lawrence Berkley National Lab discusses how building demand/load flexibility helps support the power grid and the CalFlexHub initiative. CalFlexHub is a program aimed at "building up a pipeline of technologies able to automatically receive and respond to dynamic electricity price signals to change the consumption pattern of low flexible devices." Topics covered include technologies and projects involved with CalFlexHub, the CalFlexHub communications architecture, factors that influence demand flexibility, and more. Additionally, Liu goes into detail on two examples of CalFlexHub projects in residential and commercial settings.
