Edge Computing: A Feasible and Integrated Approach to Collecting System Data
In this webinar, published by the the Florida Advanced Technological Education Center for Manufacturing (FLATE), Purvee Bhatia from the University of South Florida discusses using Raspberry Pi to develop an edge computing system with data collection and analysis capabilities. The presentation begins with an overview of edge computing and environmental monitoring, including the advantages of edge processing and the industries where edge computing is used. Bhatia then goes into detail on the process of developing a Raspberry Pi edge computing system that collects "data from an array of air quality sensors, each selected to capture a comprehensive set of environmental variables." Topics discussed include sensor models, the components and setup of the environmental monitoring system, data analytics with the Raspberry Pi system, and more.
The video recording runs 44:02 minutes in length.
