Decarbonization of Domestic Hot Water Generation Lab
This webinar, published by the Center for Renewable Energy Advanced Technological Education Resource Center (CREATE), focuses on an in-class lab designed to teach students how to calculate carbon emissions and make informed decisions regarding hot water generation. In the lab, students test hot water generation with a gas stove, electric resistance, and a heat pump. Then, students analyze and compare the carbon emissions of each hot water generation technique. James Horst, instructor at Delaware Technical College, walks through the steps and content of the lab, discussing its creation, materials used, its performance in classes, and the lab's learning outcomes. The lab activity is available to view separately at createenergy.org.
The video runs 24:08 minutes in length.
