Learning Activity 9: Data for the Rate of Rise Curves - Introduction

In this video, published by Erie Community College, Professor Elena Brewer from Erie Community College provides an introduction to activity nine of the student lab manual, where learners measure pressure and pump-down time to examine the effects of leaks in rough vacuum systems. Learners will collect three data sets during the pump-down process: one with no leaks, one with a real leak, and one with a virtual leak. Using the data sets, learners will create pump-down curves that reflect the presence and type of leak in the rough vacuum system. Brewer guides learners through the process of data-gathering for this activity.
