DroneTech Educator Workshop 2020 - Stem Drones Take Flight

This collection includes materials from the DroneTech Virtual Educator Workshop: STEM Drones Take Flight that was held by the National Center for Autonomous Technologies (NCAT). The workshop was intended to be an introduction to drones and how they can be incorporated into educational programs. The workshop covered safety principles, regulations, best practices in maintaining and documenting drone programs, and economical STEM drones.

Workshop materials include a 2-page guide for 3D printing in the classroom, two presentations, a UAS flight log, and a document linked with web resources. The presentations cover the following topics: the anatomy of a drone, Part 107 and what it means to educators, drone operations and best practices, the rise of the STEM drones, student competitions, and more. 

For orientation purposes Drone Take Flight.pdf is included as a separate attachment and offers a sample of the types of material included in this collection.
