Imaging System Performance for Homeland Security Applications
This 37-page resource, developed by the National Center for Optics and Photonics Education (OP-TEC), is one of three modules that cover forensic science and homeland security. These modules pertain "to the imaging component in homeland security as a photonics-enabled technology." This module "covers the measurements used to evaluate imaging system performance as related to homeland security, resolution and MTF for optical and electro-optical systems, and industry methods for evaluating different systems. This module includes the following sections: Introduction, Prerequisites, Objectives, Scenario, Basic Concepts, Modulation Transfer Function (MTF), MTF Measurement Methods, Applying MTF to Reconnaissance Systems, Laboratory, Exercises, References, and more. Two other forensic science and homeland security modules are available to view separately.
