This nanoHub webpage provides a Nanocrystalline Solar Cells lab created by SHINE: Seattle's Hub for Industry-driven Nanotechnology Education. "This lab consists of activities designed to teach students about solar cells." Lab learning objectives include:

  • Gain a basic understanding of circuits and how solar cells work.
  • Gan an understanding of the different types of solar cell technology.
  • Build and test a solar cell made using nanocrystalline TiO2 and juice from berries (ex. blackberries).

Lab resources include a student worksheet, instructor guide, and a MSDS: Materials Data Sheet. Resources are available free for download.
