Sometimes We Need Big Numbers
This lesson, presented by the National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network, covers the general concepts of number size by introducing the size of the nanometer. From there, students discuss and visualize the concepts of millions, billions, and trillions in an effort to " lay the foundation for future learning about atoms in the middle grades." Included with this lesson are several resource files, "Sometimes we need large numbers _TG.pdf," "Student Worksheet," "Instructions to create center pockets," and the "Tri-fold form."
