Mixtures and Nanotechnology

This experiment, presented by the National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network, covers Mixtures and Nanotechnology. The main idea of this module is to introduce the idea to students that the classification of mixtures is based on the size of particles. Students will also be prompted to connect two main ideas in nanotechnology, "the first is Size and Scale or factors relating to size and geometry of materials which help describe matter and predict its behavior. The second is Size-Dependent Properties that can change with scale." The lesson plan is designed for middle and high school students, and includes image files, student guide, teacher guide, and next generation science standards for this lesson.
