Introduction to Alternative and Renewable Energy: Biomass

These presentation slides are intended for use in a college-level introductory course in alternative and renewable energy. The slides cover biomass energy technology, including biopower, biofuels and biobased products. A technical background of biomass is given, including composition and energy content of various types of biomass. Different types of biopower explored include direct combustion biopower and air-blown glassification based biopower. Syngas, ethanol, and biodiesel are also discussed.
