LAB INSTRUCTIONS
Look at the following image and the instructions below it. The instructions will tell you how to set up the lab.
- Make sure you are wearing safety glasses.
- Shut off the orange shutoff valve before you start hooking up any components.
- Plug in 2 of the 3 ports on the silver manifold.
- Take a hose from the silver manifold and run it to the "P" port on the Manually-Operated Valve.
- Take a 12" hose (approximate length) and run it from the "A" port on the Manually-Operated Valve to the Non-Rod side of the Double-Acting Cylinder.
- Take a 12" hose (approximate length) and run it from the "B" port on the Manually-Operated Valve to the Rod side of the Double-Acting Cylinder.
- Push the Manually-Operated Valve to the right.
- Video yourself doing steps 9-11.
- Turn on the orange shutoff valve, and set the "FR" unit to 60 psi. Check that your cylinder is retracted.
- Shift the Manually-Operated Valve back and forth, and check that the cylinder is extending and retracting.
- Turn off the orange shutoff valve, cycle the Manually-Operated Valve back and forth a couple of times so that there is no stored air in the system, unhook the hoses, and put everything away.
SUBMISSION
- Once your system is working correctly, show an instructor.
- After you have done this, your instructor will cause your system to not work correctly.
- Then, you'll troubleshoot the system.
- Once you have corrected the system, submit a video of the system operating correctly. In your video, state what the problem was with the system and how you fixed it.
